Hotel Hippocampus
At the Southern edge of the island lies the small fishing village of Perdika (which literally translated means "partridge"). This is perhaps one of the most picturesque spots on the island and still has the characteristics of the Aegean Sea-style of square houses and narrow streets.
Hotel Hippocampus is situated in the small fishing village of Perdika, located 9 km from the port of Aegina Town on Aegina island in Greece. Hippocampus is open all year through.
The Hippocampus (which means seahorse) has 20 rooms, all with balcony that overlooks either the sea or the mountain. It has a beautiful shaded garden where you can have your breakfast, drinks or just can sit and relax. The hotel has even got it's own traditional Greek church. At night, you can have your cocktails served by Pavlos, or you can take a 2-minute stroll down to the harbour where you can find a wide selection of taverns. Enjoy the wonderful scenery of Aegina island and experience the fantastic Greek hospitality.

Agia Zoni, the small family church in the corner of the garden, celebrates her name day on 31st August. In honour of the occasion, following the traditions associated with the Greek Orthodox Church, a full service is held. Attended by villagers and guests alike, this tradition has been upheld by the Lazarou family since the days long before Hotel Hippocampus, when the Lazarou family had their summer house here.
No one knows the exact age of the original church but in 1922, it was renovated and restored by Pavlo's grandparents. Over the years, it has witnessed several baptisms and weddings.
